In the top of the third inning, with the score tied at 0-0, Naylor struck first. With the bases loaded, he took a change-up from starter John Gray and smashed a two-run home run over the right field wall for a 2-0 lead.

After the game, Sarah Lance, a reporter for MLB.com, the official website of Major League Baseball, highlighted the Naylor brothers’ performance on social media. “The Naylor brothers are the first to hit a home run in the same inning for the same team since the Upton brothers on 24 April 2013,” she wrote.
Naylor spoke to MLB.com about his brother’s record. “It’s pretty special. “I knew how excited he was when I hit a home run, and I knew how excited he was when I hit a home run, and I was excited when he hit a home run. It was a great moment for a brother to share.”
The Naylor brothers also made history by becoming the 13th brothers in Major League Baseball history to hit home runs in the same game for the same team.
